Another top executive is leaving Citigroup. Last month, the giant New York-based bank lost its president, Bob Willumstad. Now Marge Magner, the Citi’s head of consumer banking, is bowing out. Predictably, the Wall Street whisper circuit is crackling — or is it cackling?

Moment of truth! Stock prices, as we expected, bounced again this week, with the blue chip Standard & Poor’s 500 index closing today at a four-year high. Now comes the moment of truth. Will the familiar seasonal forces take over and let some air out of the market? Or will prices continue to march upward? We should know with a fair degree of certainty within the next day or two.
